Founder

I’m Mike Ferrell – a director, producer, and writer based in Los Angeles, California. I work across documentary, narrative film, and branded storytelling.

I started in comedy, spent a decade in marketing, and found my way to journalism before landing in filmmaking. All of it informs my work today.

I'm drawn to stories and people at an inflection point. Someone going for it and betting on themselves – figuring out what they’re made of. I love capturing transformation through details.

I’ve made documentaries, unscripted series, and brand films for clients like Raglan, The North Face, Harley-Davidson, Specialized Bicycles, Salomon, Marmot, and onX Backcountry.

If you have a story to share, I'd love to hear about it.

My Approach

It starts with questions. A lot of them. I’m a curious person and want to understand your idea, your challenges, and what success looks like for you. That process can be quick or take time, and that’s cool – because it’s a lot of fun.

Assembling the team

The next step is to figure out what the work actually needs, and who the right creative team is to help us get there. I work with a wide range of talented directors, producers, cinematographers, editors, colorists, sound engineers, and motion gfx professionals.

Joining a team

I'm also available to step into existing productions as a director, producer, or writer. Whether you need someone to lead a shoot, shape a story in development, or come in and help get something across the finish line. I've done all of it, and I work well inside someone else's vision.

Making an impact

My favorite moments have taken me deep into nature, into adventure, and into places where I don't speak the language. That's why I love work that broadens perspective. That can be making someone pause and think, finding common ground, or inspiring curiosity about other cultures and the natural world.
